The “Jožef Stefan” Institute is named after the famous Slovenian physicist Jožef Stefan, the only Slovenian who gave a name to a physical law: Stefan’s radiation law.

More than 200 Institute employees are licensed in Slovenian universities and participate in the higher education process. More than 1,800 researchers completed their master’s and doctoral theses at the Institute. The institute also cooperates with secondary schools, for which it organizes internships and involves them in active research work.

The institute cooperates with many renowned institutions around the world, organizes international conferences, and participates in international exhibitions. In addition, it does everything possible to ensure the international exchange of experts. Many research achievements have received international recognition, and many IJS collaborators are internationally recognized scientists.
